Themed Reveal Day - Tailgating Foods
Throughout the year, there are occasions where a month will have 5 Mondays. As you may know, most months have just 4 and that is why we only have 4 groups in Secret Recipe Club. I thought it would be nice to do a Themed Reveal Day on the weeks where we typically sit out and rest. There is one more 5 Monday instance in November, but since it's the end of August and it's about to be tailgating time, the theme this month is TAILGATING FOODS! Who is ready for some good game grub?!

Soutzoukakia: Chocolate and Chillies
Today's featured recipe comes from Group D. Asiya of Chocolate and Chillies made Soutzoukakia {Greek Meatballs in a Tomato Sauce} from her assigned blog, A Day in the Life on a Farm. Asiya talks about making these lovely little meatballs in the oven while the tomato sauce is cooking - that she prefers baking to frying. I totally agree. I think baking meatballs is not only easier and practically foolproof, but they taste more tender and juicy that way!
Asiya had this to say about her recipe:
"This dish turned out really well! We enjoyed it with some long grain white rice but it would be great with some crusty bread as well."

Tortilla chips, Pringles, or maybe just a spoon, whatever the method is, it is a great appetizer that you can practically turn into a meal, as it is that satisfying. "

Power Sunrise Smoothie: Pretty PolyMath
One of today's featured recipes comes from Group C. Hetal of Pretty PolyMath made Power Sunrise Smoothie from her assigned blog, The Savvy Kitchen. I do apologize for my lateness of posting all Group C's features. I realized last night that it was Thursday and I hadn't posted one thing! So here we go! Every time I see a picture of a smoothie, I think about how I don't make smoothies enough. I have a picky fruit eater and one way he will eat fruits is through smoothies. This one looks fabulous and it is vegan-friendly and dairy-free!
Hetal had this to say about her recipe:
"It only takes 5 minutes to make and makes the perfect energy boosting breakfast. Give it a try!"

Chipotle Bacon Corn Salad: Morsels of Life
Today's featured recipe comes from Group B. CJ of Morsels of Life made Chipotle Bacon Corn Salad from her assigned blog, Cookin' Mimi. Corn side dishes can be a very dangerous thing at my dinner table. I feel like corn is one of those things you can never fill up on and growing up in Minnesota where sweet corn was prevalent, I absolutely love it. CJ's take on Micha's recipe looks delicious! Don't you agree?
CJ had this to say about her recipe:
"Serve this as a side, or like I did - as a salad topping! This stuff really packs in a big hit of flavor, and we enjoyed it."
