Reveal Day - January 18, 2016
Welcome, one and all, to the greatest show on earth...I mean, to our first reveal day of 2016!! :) Group A & B were taking a well-deserved break this month, so Group C is our first group to have a reveal day this year.
15 January 2016
Gold Member: Sarah
We've reached the last of our Gold Members for 2016 - all of the 2016 receipients joined Secret Recipe Club in its first year: 2011. Our last Gold Member is in Group C (originally Group A) and she would live in pjs if it was acceptable.
That's right - today's feature is Sarah of The Pajama Chef! She started her blog in 2010 and joined SRC in November 2011. Sarah and her husband, Ben, live in Nashville with their three kitties - I love that they have middle names - ours do, too. They are expecting their first child this year - a baby boy. :) Congrats to you two! When she's not at work as an academic librarian or running (she loves doing 5ks and marathons), she is whipping up something in the kitchen.
Let's see what Sarah has whipped up for SRC over the years:
- Honey Whole Wheat English Muffins - her first reveal day post
- Churro Cheesecake Bars
- Quinoa Pancakes
- Blueberry Burgers
- Parmesan Garlic Rolls
- Iced Coconut Mocha
- Falafel, Tzatziki, and Greek Lemon Rice
- Gingerbread Muffins
- Coffee Blondies
I have been around since October 2011 making me a 2011 veteran member of SRC, but I'm not the only 2011 veteran member who has missed a reveal day here and there. Here are some more of our great members who have been around for FOREVER and we love them for it: Trisha, Andrea, Nicole C., Erin D., Amanda, Amy L., Jean, Jessica, Nichole, Corina, Kathy, Dena, Ellie, Micha, Jane, Heather, Margaret, Sara, April, Kirstin, Amy C., and Amy D. Y'all may not be "official" gold members, but you are all gold to me! Okay, okay, I know, that was TOO cheesy. ;) Thank you all for being the foundation of The Secret Recipe Club
14 January 2016
Gold Member: Julie
Our next Gold Member is Group B (originally Group C) member, Julie. Julie is the blogger behind Little Bit of Everything. She started her blog in 2009 as a way to share recipes as she cooked through her cookbook and recipe clipping collection. I love knowing that there are other recipe hoarders out there :) Julie joined the Secret Recipe Club back in June 2011 and has never missed a reveal day.
Let's walk down Julie's SRC memory lane:

Gold Member: Jamie
Jamie of Our Eating Habits started her blog in 2011 and joined SRC in Nov 2011. She is a group C member and our next Gold Member - that means since joining SRC, Jamie has not missed one reveal day. Jamie loves to cook and bake and loves food - she says she doesn't want to waste calories on bad food. I am totally with her on that! :) Her blog has tons and tons of really delicious foods - be sure to stop by and find something new to make.
In the meantime, have a little inspiration from her years with SRC:

Gold Member: Shirley
Yet another Group D member has made it to the not-missing-any-reveal-days-since-joining "club" AKA has earned the title of Gold Member. Makes me proud to be their hostess :) GO, GROUP D!!
The blogger I am talking about today is Shirley of Enriching Your Kid. She began her blog in 2009 and joined SRC in October 2011. Shirley's blog focuses on providing food that is not only good for your kids, but something they enjoy too!

Gold Member: Nicole
Today's Gold Member feature is Group D member, Nicole - of I Am A Honeybee. She started her blog in 2009 and joined up with the Secret Recipe Club in October 2011.
I adore her blog name after having read her about the blog page. And one of the perks of being in a group for so long is that you get to see the bloggers hit big events, like pregnancy and marriage. Nicole's daughter, Autumn, is the cutest little thing, and she recently got married - which she blogged about. Talk about a gorgeous dress (and bride)! She is also blogging about her Whole30 journey.
Nicole has tons of great recipes on her blog, but today we'll focus on her SRC ones:
- Pumpkin Cheesecake Bars - her first post with the club
- Tropical Pork Pineapple Kebabs (I've made these - really delish!)
- Brown Butter Sea Salt Cookies
- Cranberry French Toast Casserole
- Copycat Almond Joys
- Champion's Green Detox Smoothie
- Banana Nut Bread Pudding
- Slow Cooker Honey Sesame Chicken
- Shrimp & Curried Coconut Risotto

Gold Member: Chelsy
Today's Gold Member is Group C member, Chelsy of Mangia. It's harder for me to talk about members who haven't been in my group (Group D) since I don't really get to talk to them much. So bear with me here...
Chelsy started Mangia in 2010. She joined SRC in July 2011 and since then has participated in each reveal day with Group C. Chelsy explains in her about me page that Mangia means "eat" in Italian, but it's also more than just "eat" - but I will let you go read her page to see what she means :) She has a BA in Kinesiology and is a certified personal trainer. She has a major sweet tooth, but strives on balance! She also has been remaking recipes without gluten for her younger sister who has Celiac disease - best big sister ever!!
Let's see what Chelsy has posted with SRC...

Today's Gold Member is someone who left Group D for Group C and then came back again. She joined up in October 2011 and has not missed a single reveal day...who is it exactly? The lovely Karen of Lavender & Lovage!
Karen spends her time between England and France and is currently working on a cookbook. She is passionate about writing and recipe developing and you can really see that in every single post she does. Her pictures are absolutely gorgeous and it doesn't matter if it's a food you hate, Karen will make you drool with her description and photo of it. Karen started Lavender & Lovage in 2011 and you will find a plethora of recipes on her blog. There is a little of everything, really.

Gold Member: Erin
The next new Gold Member is another Group D member, Erin, who blogs at The Spiffy Cookie. Erin has been with Secret Recipe Club since October 2011 and has not missed a single reveal day (just like the other Gold Members). I have been a long time follower of The Spiffy Cookie and just really love Erin's whole blog. Like, for example, she has a whole section devoted to trying different root beers: seen here. I find this not only fascinating, but AWESOME. I love root beer and it's the reason why I won't ever give up soda completely. I indulge in root beer a few times a month :)
Erin has a PhD in microbiology...let me just say that again...PhD in microbiology - she's not just a spiffy cookie - she's a smart cookie! I swear most of Group D has degrees in science. It makes me such a happy nerd! Erin started her blog in 2010 and has an impressive amount of recipes that are all just incredible-looking. I've tried many from her blog and have loved each of them.
Some of Erin's best SRC recipes...
- Root Beer Sloppy Joes - her first recipe with SRC
- Chorizo Ragu Stuffed Spaghetti Squash
- Single Serve Deep Dish Chocolate Chip Cookie
- Grown-Up Macaroni & Cheese
- Lemon & Blueberry Roulade
- Sloppy Joses with Avocado Cream
- Sweet Orange Risotto with Strawberries

Gold Member: Debbi
Today's recipient of the title of Gold Member is my Group C hostess, Debbi. She has never missed a reveal day since joining in June 2011.
Her blog, Debbi Does Dinner...Healthy and Low Calorie, was started in 2009 as a way to focus on eating better while not breaking the bank. Debbi is a mom of three who also blogs for Our Krazy Kitchen. We tend to communicate a lot with the Secret Recipe Club stuff and I feel like Debbi and I just get each other. She cracks some pretty hilarious jokes and they really sneak up on me. I should learn to just expect it, really ;)
Without further ado, here are some of Debbi's fabulous SRC recipes from over the years:

Gold Member: Sally
Next up is someone who unfortunately just left my group (Group D) and I'm going to miss her terribly, but her and her arch enemy, Dorothy, are off to Group A where Susan gets to try and keep them under control ;) If you are in SRC, you know exactly who I'm talking about: Sally of Bewitching Kitchen.
Each time I sent assignments, I would send Sally and Dorothy theirs within seconds of each other because they love a little friendly competition. They take to our SRC group on Facebook and trash talk who is faster with picking, shopping for, making, photographing, and scheduling their SRC reveal day recipe. The pair of them are trouble, but only the best kind!
Sally joined Secret Recipe Club in September 2011 (and has not missed a single reveal day!) and is an absolute hoot to have around. I can count on her to email me back with a happy note after each email I send her. I have come to appreciate her positivity and enthusiasm. It's contagious! She started Bewitching Kitchen in June 2009 and follows Julia Child's mantra: "Everything in moderation, including moderation." Sally is originally from Brazil, but her and her husband (both biochemists) currently reside in Manhattan. She has three rambunctious terriers - which she states is the reason behind the greys ;)
So now let's see some of Sally's best SRC recipes from over the years...

Gold Member: Camilla
On the old SRC blog, April & Amanda had a Gold Member award. If I remember correctly, it was handed out to those who hadn't missed one reveal day. I decided to revive it in the new year and feature some of our great SRC members. This year, I looked at only those SRC members who joined SRC in 2011 - the first year. We have a lot of members who are still in the club today that joined in that year. So on the last day of gold member features, I will do a shout-out to all of our 2011 Veterans! But for now, I will kick off the next two weeks of gold member features with our very first recipient, my Group B hostess, Camilla of Culinary Adventures with Camilla.
Camilla is the hardest-working volunteer you will ever find. She has always gone above and beyond for the club, rescuing more orphans than I can count, and you can tell that is not exclusive to just SRC - she gives her all in everything! Her blog was started in 2010 and she came to the club in September 2011 - she has not missed one reveal day. She blogs the best and most incredibly unique foods - for example, a salmon burger on a cuttlefish ink bun. Her husband and two boys make frequent appearances on the blog and I love that their culinary adventures include all of them. The boys are, more often than not, right there with her making food (and helping clean up the mess since that is Camilla's least favorite thing).
Now for some of her SRC creations over the years:
Thank you, Camilla, for being a huge part of SRC and helping things run smoothly behind the scenes!
